Drawing on Islamic vernacular architecture and cultural traditions, the design of the building evokes natural and historic references into an architectural language which celebrates the United Arab Emirates’ cultural heritage. Our proposal is a series of porous membranes, defining the building envelope while establishing a series of relationships between inside and outside and creating a harmonious engagement with the waterfront.
