KAPSARC

The KAPSARC (King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center) project calls for an iconic building to reflect both the world-class status of this institution and its location, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. But iconic architecture must not be created at the expense of cultural values, functionality and environmental standards: iconic architecture must follow from these factors. Buildings are unique. They must be a product of the particulars of the site and rooted in the culture of their location.
