The Columbarium
Saint-Laurent-d’Oingt, France
The project offers a resting place for the departed who have chosen to be cremated, and will consist of two parts: the Memorial Garden and the Columbarium. The latter takes the form of a corridor holding within its walls 24 boxes, each closed by two panes of Murano Glass that will filter the light passing through the stone, thus blurring the limits of the space.
The Columbarium, built in Comblanchien stone blocks, will lead the visitor towards the Memorial Garden that will face the existing sepulchre sitting on the site. This space, both private and open to the sky, will offer peace and serenity to those who rest there, as well as to their visitors.
